Indonesia is a compelling place with 18,000 islands strung across the Equator, many with their own unique plants and animals, separated by relatively short distances, Indonesia is a naturalist’s promised land and vivacious society.

With our summer travel education program, students get to experience island culture, where they will catch daily dance and music performances, explore museums and art galleries, hike Mt. Ijen and mountain temples, and bike through villages that still do things the old-fashioned way.

Amid the nation's ethnic tensions, there are places where both Hindus and Muslims worship and Pura Lingsar, on Lombok island is just one of those sacred places.

Of course the trip will not be complete without acknowledging the Buddhist presence on the island of Java. Borobudur is the largest Buddhist temple complex on the island and within a short distance you will find the Hindu temples called Prambanan.
